Iraivan temple's gold-covered towers will be seen glistening in the Hawaiian sun. These include the vimanam, rajagopuram and the three chinna gopurams. The gold leaf applied a few years ago by volunteers is already showing wear. Therefore, we have located a team of experts from New York to redo and finish the work. The kavacham (metal cladding) that covers the kodimaram (flagpole) will also be gilded. Work will begin in August, 2009, provided we receive the sponsorships in the next few months. Sponsorships for this project must be complete within the coming year and a half.
